Where did the time go? It seems like the older I get the faster the years pass by. I don’t know about you, but 2023 has been an incredible year and I’m beyond ecstatic and ready for 2024. I feel like I say this every year, but there’s something about a fresh slate appeals to the optimist in me.
Before we ring in a new year, it’s time to celebrate the year that was. I’m sure that you have been or will be attending holiday parties through the remainder of the year (especially with the pandemic in our rearview, thank goodness), and of course there’s the New Year’s Eve celebration.
Some years I like to keep things low-key and stay in, but other years I like to go out and ring in the New Year with close family & friends.

Whether you’re going out with the boys, hitting up a few dinner parties or taking your significant other out on a special date, I’ve got 3 distinct looks I’ve styled to inspire your holiday party or NYE get-ups this year along with a collage of bonus styling inspiration at the end.
Holiday Party & New Year’s Eve Outfits for Men
And now, with 2024 on the horizon—it’s time to turn it up, to get on that next level and most importantly, to stay there.
Let’s go!
Look 1: Turnt Up
Maybe you’re still young and ready to turn up this holiday season. I’m not talking college-level turn up, but a more mature turn up.
This is a casual, stylish look that can take you from pregame to the bars or club in effortless style. I’ve paired the fall essential brown leather jacket with slim, gray corduroy pants. I especially love to wear corduroy around this time of year and this pair is cords for jeans lovers.
It’s a relatively muted look. The colors don’t pop, but the individual pieces do. The leather jacket speaks for itself and the dotted gray button up is fun without screaming “look at me.” Finally, I finish off the look with the navy, suede boots which has a serious combat boot aesthetic.
Look 2: The Next Level
They say to dress for the job that you want not the job that you have. So if you want to be the boss, why not dress like one?
Second on the list of New Year’s Eve outfits for men takes things to the next level. And nothing says next level quite like a braces (suspenders), necktie and tie bar combination.
I rarely ever wear suspenders, in fact this is my first pair of braces I’ve ever owned. In case you’re wondering, the difference between the two is that braces attach to the buttons (custom) on the inside of the pant waistband, whereas suspenders clip on to the pants. Braces are a better look in my opinion.
You’ll surely be levels above the rest with a killer pair of dress boots in a dark brown color to ground the look. If you have a French cuff shirt, I’d say wear it with your best pair of cufflinks.

Even if you never wear suspenders, it’s worth considering on an occasion like New Year’s Eve. One thing is for sure—that you’ll be taking it to the next level with a look like this.
Look 3: Stay Elevated
So you’ve made it to the top, easy right? Now it’s the hard part—staying there.
You can elevate your holiday party, date night or NYE look with a turtleneck (rollneck), colored dinner jacket combination.
This is a look that will turn heads for all the right reasons. The statement dinner jacket stands out, but isn’t obnoxious. It’s festive, yet tasteful in my opinion. I personally like the rounded lapels.
This is a great New Year’s Eve or date night ensemble. The turtleneck under a suit jacket and black pants, oxfords combination give off an air of casual elegance.
All black is boring so I opted for black down low with color up top. I say go for a jacket in colors such as navy, burgundy, merlot or green to mix it up and look seasonally appropriate.
This getup works because the green jacket and beige turtleneck livens up the overall look. I finish the look with a clean white pocket square with a classic presidential fold.
Overall, I feel that this outfit achieves great balance so you can stay elevated, not just on this night, but for the year ahead.
