What Is ASOS DESIGN?
ASOS DESIGN is ASOS’ in-house brand that explores the latest in trends, “created by us, styled by you.” Their designers pride themselves on reimagining the hottest trends from around the world in the creation of statement pieces and style staples.
They cater to both men and women with a wide range of fits from curvy, tall, petite and maternity for women, and plus and tall for men. ASOS is also actively striving towards a more responsible and sustainable footprint for the future.
How it Feels
This tan biker jacket is an ASOS DESIGN original. It’s made with a premium suede that’s exceptionally soft to the touch. You can immediately feel the quality upon touching the jacket material. It’s basically the same type of suede used on the ASOS Design suede bomber jacket in tan that I’ve had for several years now.
The jacket already feels broken in as suede leather is typically much softer and wears easier than your typical goat, sheep or cow leather.
It’s a relatively thin jacket with a lightweight 100% polyester lining with no real insulation, though I still think this makes for a great fall jacket.

How it Fits
I opted for the size XS as usual with ASOS and I think that it fits fairly well. Not quite as well fitting as the model online, but it’s certainly wearable.
The armholes are high, and it’s fitted in the shoulders throughout the arms and down the body. Some issues are of course with the length. It’s a good inch or 2 too long for my liking, both in the body and the sleeves.
Length aside, overall, I like how it fits me. There’s ample room for me to layer a lightweight sweater or hoodie underneath too. Zipped up the jacket appears well-fitted and is comfortable even as I move my arms around and cross my arms. No restriction whatsoever.
The Bottom Line
If they offered a short version of this jacket, I’d be tempted to pick one up.

Design & Construction
The ASOS DESIGN suede biker jacket is equipped with SAS zippers, not YKK. SAS has been in development for over 20 years, based in Zhejiang, China and have a reputation for manufacturing quality zippers, though they might not be as nice as YKK or talon zips.
All in all the zip pockets feel well made, they’re easy to access and zip open and closed. As for some design details, there’s a button down shoulder epaulette which is a nice accent for this mostly minimal jacket.
It’s also got the standard studded notch lapels and an interior pocket on the left side. Additionally, there’s zippers on the sleeves for more simple styling.
The Bottom Line
I’ve owned the ASOS DESIGN premium suede bomber jacket for a handful of years now and I can tell you that the suede definitely does hold up. Coming in at under $200, there’s some real value here.

Is ASOS DESIGN Good Quality?
In my experience with the ASOS DESIGN line, the quality is quite good, especially for the prices. For example, I have a harrington jacket and suede bomber jacket from ASOS DESIGN and both jackets are pretty well made and have been held up nicely over the years. The suede bomber jacket in particular has a suede that looks rich and really does have a supple and premium feel.

How To Style It
I wouldn’t wear so much white with a black leather jacket; however, since this is a tan suede biker, I went with the whiteout. I feel like white pairs quite nicely with tan suede, I’ve worn white in the past with my tan suede bomber which is also from ASOS and I think it looks great.
Here I’m wearing a basic white tee paired with white Levi’s 511 slim fit jeans and white trainers from Veja. The tan suede provides a rich contrast against the all white ensemble.

Is It Worth It?
The ASOS Design suede biker jacket retails for $190 and is currently on sale for $142 which makes it a nice value under $150. I don’t think the jacket is worth it retail, but if you can get it for $50 or more off, then it’s a good deal.
Wrapping Things Up
ASOS has always been a favorite place to shop because of their affordable prices, although the QC can be inconsistent at times.
I imagine their prices are so affordable because their supply chain in countries like China, India, Vietnam and Honduras are well oiled machines at this point. As for how ethical they are, that’s a discussion worth having at some point.
And so, it looks like the quest to find the best leather jacket (for me) continues. Of course, if you have any biker jacket recommendations, I’m open to suggestions.
