I can’t say how well the tracking actually works since I haven’t tried it yet. What I love about this wallet though, is the ease of use, sliding your cards in and out. It’s a pleasure to use and its unique design can serve as a great conversation starter too.

A minor downside to the DM1 wallet is that its edges are slightly sharp which might cause unwanted friction against your pants. Additionally, sometimes while sliding my cards in and out of the wallet, the insides of the wallet would trim some of the plastic off my cards which can be an annoyance.

The DM1 wallet comes in aluminum, nickel or titanium. I have the titanium in black which is super lightweight. There’s also titanium money clip that you can add on to the wallet or use individually. Keep in mind if you do attach it to your wallet, it will take up one of the card spaces.

The Carl Friedrik Slim Leather Card Holder has plenty of slots for all of your cash and cards. What’s different about this one is the open middle slot to handle all of your bills. It’s accompanied by 4 external card slots, 2 on the front and 2 on the back.

As for appearance, the wallet has smooth leather surface (Italian Vachetta leather), the complete opposite of the Kodiak Leather minimalist wallet (reviewed below). There’s a clean stitching with a single-filament thread and hand painted edges. The details are clean and on point.

The logotype “CARL FRIEDRIK” is embossed at the front-bottom of the wallet. I opted for the cognac (tan) color, which is a bit more standout than the more subdued chocolate or black colors that they offer.

Furthermore, the solid packaging is worth noting. It’s as clean as the wallet itself. All in all, the Carl Friedrik Hatton slim leather card holder is a stylish, well-designed minimal wallet that’s made with high-quality leather from their Tuscan factory in Italy. It’s hard to go wrong here. 

I did want to mention, as great as a quality product they offer, that CF customer service leaves much to be desired. In my experience, they’re quite unresponsive and will literally ghost you, pretending like nothing is wrong when you call them out on it. Not to mention the passive aggressiveness I experienced from a sales rep. It’s not exactly ideal, especially for a smaller company.

Overall, both the aluminum and carbon fiber mini wallets are pretty lightweight coming in at 1.6 oz and 1.3 oz respectively. Both wallets have unique styling; the aluminum being powder coated and smooth while the carbon fiber has EMI/RFI mesh embedding and a shiny finish.

Ultimately if you like the look and functionality of plated wallets, HuMn’s aluminum and carbon fiber wallets are solid options. They’re well built, made in the USA and RFID secured.
