If you want something that’s as comfortable as a basic hoodie, but more elevated in appearance, then the Everlane Felted Merino Hoodie might be what you’re looking for. These hoodies are made of 100% merino wool and are super soft to the touch.
Before we start, you can learn more about the brand in my comprehensive Everlane review.
Everlane Felted Merino Hoodie Review
This hoodie is basically a woolen, knit sweater with a hood. The yarns were washed and boiled to create a softer, denser fabric that doesn’t scratch like some types of wool. The fabric looks and feels like cashmere.
It’s a classic hoodie design with drawstrings that you can use to scrunch the hood. There’s also a large pouch pocket with on the front for your hands or small EDC items. Also notice the ribbed cuffs and waistband details that add some texture to this otherwise minimalist hoodie design.
I picked the heather grey color which is always a classic, much like the grey sweatshirt. In addition, there are 4 other neutral colors to choose from including navy, charcoal, kambaba and golden palm.
Everlane Felted Merino Hoodie: How Does It Feel & Fit?
Everlane’s Felted Merino Hoodie might not be as durable as their Track Hoodie, but it’s certainly a step above in terms of dressiness. It looks great paired with slim dark wash denim and grey sneakers for example.
Furthermore, I’d say that you could even layer this hoodie underneath a suit jacket (see below) for a smart yet sporty vibe, something that wouldn’t work quite as well with a regular cotton hoodie, IMO.
It’s not the thickest fabric, in fact it’s quite thin for wool, but since it’s merino wool, it contains properties that can help to keep you warmer when it’s cool and cooler when it’s warm.
